The person behind the code

I build the product. I call the customers.

Giuseppe Renna
Viareggio · Milan

In September 2026 I left my job as Head of Technology at Datapizza to start a company. Together with Luca Maistrello and Marco Vicario I co-founded a B2B startup in logistics, based in Milan.

As CTO I build the product and the internal tools we run the company on, most of them AI-first. I also call customers myself, cold calls included. An hour on the phone with a customer moves the product more than days spent prompting coding agents.

I joined Datapizza in 2023 as its first software engineer, when the company was six people in one room. I grew with it from Lead Software Engineer to Technical Lead to Head of Technology, owning the tech strategy and a division of about 50 people.

Before Datapizza I was a backend engineer at Nielsen and Siemens, after a Computer Science degree at the University of Pisa.

I live in Viareggio and work in Milan. I post about the startup on YouTube and LinkedIn as it happens, including the mistakes and the numbers I can share.

Follow the startup as it happens.

I document the startup while it happens, from the point of view of the person writing the code and building the team. Long-form videos on YouTube, posts on LinkedIn, short videos on Instagram.
